Shaping the lives of children and young adults through performing arts
By encouraging creativity and recognizing the uniqueness of each child and young adult that come through our doors, STAGES Performing Arts Youth Academy shapes lives in a positive direction.
We offer a strong educational program taught by exceptional teachers who develop classes and workshops that foster a deeper appreciation of performing arts and the technical aspects of theatre. All that come to STAGES will be treated in a kind and respectful manner and practice professional theatre etiquette.
Encouraging Creativity & Recognizing Uniqueness.
It is our goal to make STAGES an integral part of Hillsboro’s art and culture community, making Hillsboro a better place to raise children.

The Drowsy Chaperone
The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theater fan who, feeling “blue”, decides to play for the audience an LP of his favorite musical, the fictional 1928 show The Drowsy Chaperone. As the record plays, the show – a parody of 1920s American musical comedy – comes to life onstage, as the man wryly comments on the music, story and actors.
Esperanza Rising
ESPERANZA RISING is the story of a young girl who is uprooted, transplanted, and re-grown in alien soil. The glorious, live music of Mariachis carries Esperanza (whose name means “hope”) across the dividing line that cuts through the center of this play. That line (both literal and figurative) divides two countries, two cultures, and two languages. It also separates Mexico and California, the year 1930 from 1931, and Act One from Act Two. Brought up in the lush and beautiful world of the Mexican aristocracy and then torn away and replanted in the impoverished world of a migrant labor camp in California, Esperanza ultimately fulfills the promise of her name.
SpongeBob
Stakes are higher than ever before as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage.
